I’ll admit – I’m a little nervous about returning to work tomorrow. I plan on trying to make it through the entire week without getting all emotional and needing to go home to cry. I never know how I’m going to feel from hour to hour, it seems, so I do my best just to take things one minute at a time. There are plenty of times that I worry that I’m going to start crying, then somehow I manage to keep from crying. Then there are other times that I think I’m doing fine and then before I know it, my eyes are filled with tears and I need to find a way to get away. I can’t really answer the question “How are you?” yet, because…well, I guess I don’t really know how I am doing right now. I guess at this point, every day is a challenge that I must take on.
I’m here, I’m alive, and I’m hangin’ in there.
Snagged from Ronni!
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they’re listening to.
1. ABBA – “S.O.S.”
2. Alanis Morissette – “Mary Jane” (Jagged Little Pill Acoustic version)
3. Duran Duran – “Falling Down”
4. Stevie Nicks – “Stand Back”
5. Buckingham Nicks – “Without a Leg to Stand On”
6. The Beatles – “Cry Baby Cry” (Acoustic Esher Demos version)
7. Don Henley – “The Boys of Summer”
I’m not tagging anyone, but wouldn’t mind reading other lists!!
Our backyard is coming together nicely. The grass is starting to fill in the seams and is looking more and more like one big patch of yard (as opposed to strips of sod). I am so happy that we bought the sod. It was definitely worth the money. The grass is very healthy and full, and we didn’t have to wait for seed to sprout and deal with trying to make sure it’s all even and there are no thin spots. I’m ordering our plants today for my garden area and for the borders of our yard this weekend. I’m very excited for them to arrive so that I can get out there and plant them. The weeds around the edges of the yard sure aren’t adding anything to the yard! I’ve also been looking around at teak outdoor furniture and other styles of patio furniture. Right now we have a regular plastic set which is working fine, but I accidentally got the purple primer from our sprinkler system on the table, so now there are purple splotches on it
I don’t really want to spend money on a set this year, especially since the set we have was a wedding present from my siblings-in-law. Maybe I’ll try to find a pretty table cover for it…

| You do not experience strong, irresistible cravings and consequently do not find yourself tempted to overindulge, however you are sensitive about what others think of you. Your concern about rejection and ridicule cause you to feel shy and uncomfortable around others. You are easily embarrassed and often feel ashamed. Your fears that others will criticize or make fun of you are exaggerated and unrealistic, but your awkwardness and discomfort may make these fears a self-fulfilling prophecy. You tend not to talk much and prefer to let others control the activities of groups. You prefer dealing with either people or things rather than ideas. You regard intellectual exercises as a waste of your time. You are willing to take credit for good things that you do but you don’t often talk yourself up much, however you are not affected strongly by human suffering, priding yourself on making objective judgments based on reason. You are more concerned with truth and impartial justice than with mercy. You are a reasonably organized person and like to have a certain amount of routine in your life. |

Interesting… I haven’t done any memes in awhile, but for some reason I thought I’d do this one since
Ronni did it and it looked interesting.

WOW – There’s a severe weather alert right now. Supposedly they are thinking that it’s going to snow in some of the higher elevations this weekend. That’s AFTER a week of 70-degree days and a weekend where it was in the 80s. My poor plants. I rushed out there last night and moved all of the newbies into our little greenhouse out of fear that they would freeze! Then we wake up this morning and, while there are some clouds and wind, I definitely see plenty of patches of blue sky and it doesn’t appear to be that cold. This year the weather reports have been even MORE inaccurate than usual, and my poor sinuses are not enjoying how messed up the weather patterns have been. Now I know why people take the time and money to buy air purifiers and stay indoors during the Spring. I’ve never been one to suffer from allergies or anything, but I definitely don’t handle the drastic changes in weather well!
