It’s frustrating how difficult it’s become to redeem coupons these days. Unless they are clearly out of a newspaper or magazine it seems like you almost have to get the actual company on your phone at the checkstand and have them confirm with the cashiers that it’s a legitimate coupon. There are some really nice apps for coupons on my phone and you can any kind of coupon from coupons for baby food to aj madison coupons online, but printed coupons are really a “use at your own risk” sort of thing. Back when Lily was still eating jarred baby food, Beech Nut sent me coupons via e-mail and at least three times the cashier really hesitated taking them. I understand that they have their own stores’ policies that they need to uphold but I’m hoping that eventually there will be a change somewhere to where these sorts of coupons are accepted more freely again.

Our neighborhood continues to grow, with the help of all sorts of industrial equipment and building supplies. I’m not sure how quickly the homes are selling, but there still is plenty of building. I generally don’t mind, but every once in awhile someone parks something in front of our house or across from our driveway and that makes it a little more difficult to try and park or get out of our driveway. One positive to having more homes in here is that maybe eventually there will be less bees and bugs because there will be fewer empty, weed-clogged lots.

I really haven’t been posting here very often! I think it’s time for me to try to drum up some sort of a new layout and get back into the swing of things. I’ve really had a lot to write about but just finding the time has been a problem.

I’ve been trying to get some sense of organization back in our home. There are so many piles of miscellaneous things tucked in places just so Lily can’t get to them. I want to get some bins and containers because she does manage to get into everything. I don’t mind picking up her toys but for some reason it bugs me more to be picking up OUR stuff!

Did some re-decorating of sorts in the kitchen and our bathroom. Nothing major, just putting away some things and adding a few little things. Jon bought me a nice linen set at Christmas so that really helped me feel like our house is a little less disjointed. He found a really good deal on the linen, too. Not at all the cost of some matouk linens, but still nice.

My next project is getting some of Lily’s baby things out of her room. Her bathroom also needs to be painted and we need to figure out what to do with the litter box in there. Hmm…

Every time we go to the mall and walk past the tux shop, memories of our wedding day come back. I can still clearly remember the first time I saw my husband out the window of the hotel room, all dressed in his tux and his tuxedo shoes. He looked so handsome. It’s funny how just hearing, smelling, or seeing something can bring back so many memories, even if you’re not trying to reminisce.

There are far too many weight loss supplements and programs out there. Back when I was nursing Lily every 3 hours, around the clock, we would turn on the TV in our bedroom since nursing and diaper changes took at least 45 minutes and I needed something to keep me awake. It seems like almost every night I would see at least one ad or infomercial while flipping through channels for something weight-loss related. It seemed like all of the weight loss success stories were the same, too. Dull television.

To my amazement, I am nearly my pre-pregnancy size, and that is without making much of an effort at all. Hah. I am not sure how exactly it happened, but it appears to have happened. I am finally to the point where I felt comfortable putting my navel ring back in. We’ll see how long THAT lasts – it definitely feels different now that there’s a little girl being packed around. Her little feet have already kicked it a number of times. I’m pretty proud of myself, though. I never really got to the point where I considered using apidexin or any other sort of weight-loss drug, thank goodness, but maybe next time I’ll be a little better about my eating habits after our next pregnancy.

Oh.My.Gosh. I have never had a cold this bad in my life. Last night, my head was so incredibly congested that I wanted to cry, but I used every last ounce of strength to prevent myself from crying because that would have just made the congestion worse. TheraFlu and my neti-pot have been my best friends. Somehow I’ve managed to minimally keep up with my daughter. I honestly don’t know how, though. My poor husband is also dealing with a similar type of cold, although his congestion hasn’t reached the “cement-head” state yet. I’ve been struggling with this for a week and am definitely ready to be done with it!
